Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the
Board of Commissioners on June 25, 2007

Meeting called to order by Chairman Rick Stone at 10:00 at the Administrative Office. Present were: Commissioners Durand, Norton and Stone, Deputy Chief of Operations Doughty and Administrative Assistant Rumelhart.

Guests or Public Appearances:
  • None.
Payment of Bills:
  • The outstanding bills were reviewed and discussed. Commissioner Norton moved that the following vouchers be approved for payment:
    • General Fund (646-002-010)
      • Voucher numbers: FD07-087 through FD07-092, totaling $1,998.68.
    • Rescue Fund (646-002-020)
      • Voucher numbers: RD07-172 through RD07-174, totaling $472.80.
    • Building Fund (646-002-040)
      • Voucher numbers: BF07-021 through BF07-024, totaling $2,017.01.
    Commissioner Durand seconded the motion. The motion passed 3-0.
Correspondence:
  • WGEP Board election documents were received.
Reports:
  • Administrative Assistant
    • Current fund balances were given.
  • Commissioner Stone
    • Station 23 (Tiger) – All the bids are in. Will talk with the General Contractor before sending the bids to the USDA.
    • Station 24 (Riveredge Estates) – The dedication was well attended with over 50 people in attendance. The insulation & drywall will be put in this week.
  • Commissioner Durand
    • The Fire & Life Safety Co-op Committee staffed a booth at the Newport Rodeo.
  • Commissioner Norton
    • Loans – See Station 23 under Commissioner Stone.
  • Chief Report (given by Deputy Chief Doughty)
    • An update of current vehicle status was given.
    • The district did not win the bidding for the Fire District #3 engine.
    • The district did win the bidding on the Stevens County Sheriff Ambulance. It should arrive in a few weeks.
    • The district participated in a Emergency Action Plan training exercise sponsored by Box Canyon and Boundary Dams.
  • Deputy Chief of Operations Doughty
    • See above.

  • None.
New Business:
  • Down River Days – The district will participate in the Down River Days parade and will have a booth at the park. A sign thanking the community for their support and a sign asking for volunteers will be made.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:45. The next regular meeting will be at 10:00 AM on Monday July 9th at the Administrative Office.
