Back Pend Oreille County Fire Protection District No. 2 Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners on June 28, 2004 Meeting called to order by Chairman Rick Stone at 15:00 at Administrative Office, Metaline Falls, WA. Present were: Commissioners Stone and Layton, Administrative Assistant Rumelhart and members of the public Judy Ashton, Michele Ellsworth, Nancy Kiss, Robert Mitchell, Freddie Nearing, Larry Pollock and Penny Smith. New Business: Newport Hospital Complaint - An executive session was held from 15:03 to 15:13 to review the performance of a public employee related to an alleged complaint from Newport Hospital. After the executive session it was announced that in fact a complaint had not been file, but there was a related issue that needed to be investigated. Commissioner Stone moved that Colleen Miller be placed on administrative leave until an investigation of an incident involving her was completed, and further Commissioner Stone moved that Paramedic Doughty investigate the incident and provide a written report of his findings to the board. Commissioner Layton seconded the motion and the motion passed 2-0. Resignations – Resignations have been received from Commissioner Miller and Acting EMS Chief Johnson. Commissioner Stone moved that both resignations be accepted. Commissioner Layton seconded the motion and the motion passed 2-0. Since Acting EMS Chief Johnson’s resignation has left the position of EMS Chief vacant Commissioner Stone moved that Paramedic Doughty be appointed as Acting EMS Chief.
