Minutes of the Continued Meeting of the
Board of Commissioners on March 1, 2004
Meeting called to order by Chairman Stone at 1500 at Administrative Office, Metaline Falls, WA. Present were: Commissioners Stone and Miller, Administrative Assistant Rumelhart and various members of the public.
Old Business:
- Wallis Claim - A new release form from Mr. Wallis’ Vancouver attorney was received and has been reviewed by the District’s attorney. Administrative Assistant Rumelhart will send a copy of the release along with a cover letter to Mr. Wallis’ Newport Attorney.
- Radio Call Number – A discussion was held on the need for radio call numbers. JoAnn Boggs will be contacted to see if there is a reason not to use clear text communication.
- Border Patrol – The Border Patrol has requested a letter allowing them to use the fire radio frequency. This request will be forwarded to JoAnn Boggs.
- Tiger Property – All the paperwork has been completed and the District now owns the Tiger Property.
- Internal Budget – The internal budget was extensively discussed and approved.
New Business:
- Application – An application from Jennifer Ostrom to be a Junior Firefighter with the District was reviewed and approved unanimously.
- Continued Meeting – Commissioner Stone will be out of town for the next four weeks and Commissioner Miller has to work when the next regular meeting is scheduled. Therefore Commissioner Stone moved that the meeting be continued until Monday March 8th at 15:00 to allow the payment of bills. Then the 19:00 regular meeting can be continued by Commissioner Layton to a time that he and Commissioner Miller can meet. The motion was approved unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 17:20 to be continued Monday March 8, 2004, 15:00 at the Administrative Office.
