Back Pend Oreille County Fire Protection District No. 2 Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners on May 22, 2003 Meeting called to order by Chairman Larson at 1830 at Administrative Office, Metaline Falls, WA. Present were: Commissioners Larson, Hubert and Layton and Administrative Assistant Rumelhart and various members of the public. Paramedic Resignation - After reviewing Paramedic Jeff Wallis's letter of resignation, Commissioner Layton moved that it be accepted. The motion was approved unanimously. Short Term Solutions - Several options to temporarily fill the paramedic position as soon as possible were discussed. Commissioner Layton, Hospital District #2 Commissioner Sue Huntley and EMT Penny Smith were appointed to a committee to explore short term solutions. The committee will report at the next meeting. Long Term Solutions - Advertising for a paramedic and sending a person to a paramedic training program was discussed. It was decided to have the committee also research feasibility, costs and length of time for the various paramedic replacement options and report back at the next meeting.
