Pend Oreille County Fire Protection District No. 2
Regular meeting called to order by Chairman Brad Larson at 1930 at Administrative Office, Metaline Falls, WA
Present were: Commissioners Brad Larson, and Dave Hubert and Administrative Assistant John Rumelhart.
Commissioner Hubert moved that the preliminary agenda be approved as amended.  The motion was approved unanimously.
Commissioner Hubert moved that the September 9, 2002 meeting minutes be approved as sent.  The motion was approved unanimously.
Commissioner Hubert moved that all outstanding bills be paid.  The motion was approved unanimously.
Reports
- Administrative Assistant
- In September 2002 there were 12 ambulance runs with 6 transports.  Total billing was $14,979.00.
- As of September 30, 2002 the General Fund has a balance of $9,018.14, the General Fund Investment Pool has $1,260.42, the Rescue Fund has a balance of $6,359.30 and the Rescue Fund Investment Pool has $136.58.
- A copy of a Town of Metaline ordinance changed the name of Part Street to Selkirk Street was received.
- A letter from the Pend Oreille County Commissioners was received asking the District to appoint a representative to a committee studying a County-wide Burn Ban ordinance.  After some discussion Jeff Wallis was appointed.
- Fire Commissioner
- Tiger Land - The land is still in the process of being surveyed.
- Rescue Commissioner
- Seattle City Light Contract - The contract extension is in the process of being ratified.
- HazMat Response Vehicle - The vehicle has been moved to B&M Tire & Lube to be checked out.
- EMS District - Options were discussed.
- Administrative Commissioner
- Riley Creek Land - No Report.
- Station 24 - No Report.
Old Business
- Station Cleaning - Tabled until next meeting.
- Oxygen Bottle Lifter - Tabled until next meeting.
- Newport Ambulance Medicare MOU - The updated MOU was reviewed and approved.  A copy will be sent to Newport Ambulance for their review.
- Surplus 6x6s - Invoices showing the District owns the two 6x6 trucks have been received.  One 6x6 (serial number 10093) has been moved to the Metaline Falls property and is ready to be sold.
- Surplus 6x6, part 2 - An invoice was received from Jerry Wallis for 120 months of storage of two 6x6 canned engines at $25.00 per month totaling $2000.00.  After some discussion Commissioner Hubert moved that the second 6x6 truck (serial number 10087) be sold to Jerry Wallis to erase the storage debt.  Commissioner Larson approved the motion.
- Ione ILS MOU - Tabled until next meeting.
- Ambulance Patient Transfer Policy - The policy was reviewed and approved unanimously.
New Business
- Loan Repayment Resolution - Resolution 02-3 Loan payment from General Fund to Rescue Fund was approved unanimously.
- Radio Repeater Site - An agreement with the Border Patrol allowing us to place a digital pager repeater at their site on Sand Ridge is being pursued.  Informal discussions make it appear that the project is feasible.
The Next Meeting Agenda was discussed.
Meeting adjourned at 20:00, next meeting November 4, 2002, 18:30 at the Administrative Office.
